Teacher Inquiries About brass
Welcome to brass|MEDIA Inc. We would like to provide classroom copies of brass to interested high school teachers who are teaching junior and senior level courses. To do this, we need your assistance. We would like to know how many copies you would need and if you are willing to use brass magazine as part of your classroom activities with your students.

Our goal at brass is to help young adults understand how money impacts their lives. Wrapped in a brassy package, brass magazine looks at the lives of young adults and how they handle money. From starting a retirement plan to throwing parties, brass provides direct, intelligent, entertaining content to young adults about the money side of life. Content in brass is produced for young adults, about young adult and by young adults. And "YES," your students can submit articles and ideas for inclusion in the magazine.

brass is produced by brass|MEDIA Inc. The idea behind brass|MEDIA Inc. was incubated in a high school business class in 2001-02 and has grown tremendously to now serve thousands of young adults across the nation. brass|MEDIA Inc. is a for profit endeavor and in order for us to provide free copies of brass to students, we needed to find "appropriate" sponsors who were willing to underwrite the costs to support a young adult's need to understand how money works.

The program we are developing will first be pilot tested throughout the state of New York and will be targeted to reach all public high schools in the state that have junior and senior level students. It will be sponsored by New York State credit unions in support of financial education. Credit unions are non-profit, member-owned financial cooperatives and serve groups that share something in common, such as where they work, live, or go to church. Credit unions strive to return opportunity to their members in the form of lower loan rates and higher dividends on savings.

Your assistance in signing up and passing the word is important. Even if you are not from New York, your assistance is important as we would like to serve all states. The tentative launch of the distribution would be for the 2006-07 academic year. brass would be delivered to your school in August, November and February with the May issue available online.

If you are interested in receiving free copies of brass for your classrooms, please provide us with your contact information. We will notify you prior to the beginning of the March 2006 about the status of the classroom program. Information you provide will only be utilized to provide you with updated information about this new program.
