Credit Unions Seek to Educate Students
Nineteen credit unions and the New York Credit Union Foundation have launched a pilot education program for public schools in the state. Among the sponsors are Financial Trust Federal Credit Union in Cheektowaga and Rochester-based Summit Federal Credit Union. Summit operates one office in Buffalo and is opening a second city location in December. The two-year, no-cost pilot includes a classroom edition of a magazine aimed at educating people between the ages of 16 and 25 about the financial aspects of life.
